Kate Bradbury in conversation – One Garden Against the World

If you ever doubted that you can help change the world, read this book
— Caroline Lucas

Kate Bradbury is an award-winning garden writer, broadcaster and TV presenter based in Hove, specialising in wildlife gardening. Her new book, One Garden Against the World is a beautiful, uplifting story chronicling the joys and challenges of nurturing biodiversity in our outdoor spaces. Despite the beauty of her own garden oasis,  Bradbury grapples with climate change anxiety and the urgent need for collective action to address habitat loss and rising temperatures. Part call to arms, part intimate nature diary interwoven with personal anecdotes about her family, relationships and beloved rescue dog, Kate’s book rallies us all in the fight against climate change and habitat loss by urging us to connect to the natural world via our outdoor spaces.

Worldwide habitat losses and temperature increases threaten all life on Earth, but Kate uses her garden to connect with and provide homes for nature to live and thrive. She welcomes all wildlife, from bees, birds and bats to hedgehogs and what seems to be the entire frog population of Brighton and Hove. Her love for the natural world is infectious and inspirational. Kate’s story shows us why we should all care, along with how anyone can make changes to our outdoor spaces, no matter how big or small, to create lasting, meaningful change for nature, both here and the world over.

In conversation, Kate will give us ideas about what we can all do, no matter how small our space, to encourage wildlife and make a positive impact on the planet.

The greatest existential crisis we face distilled into the crucible of a tiny piece of paradise.
